Autumn Half Term Week - 2001
King Edmund School, Yate, Bristol
October - November 2001

Well what a great start for the South Gloucestershire Soccer Schools. With excellent weather and a really good group of kids we were all set for a fantastic week! After a short introduction the children split into 3 groups and were assigned their coaches and helpers for the week.

After a morning of lots of football matches we broke for lunch. In the afternoon everyone started to develop their skills using an established programme. Tuesday - the World Cup draw took place during lunchtime and provided some great combinations of players from all ages. Ireland eventually went on to win the cup, not without having to have 2 penalty shoot outs to get through! France won the ‘Fair play Award’ (picture below

Bristol Rovers Visit
We were very grateful to Bristol Rovers for allowing Lewis Hogg and Mark Smith to slip away from training to come along and help us out on Tuesday. All the attendee's had their photographs taken with the 2 players. Lewis and Mark also signed items of clothing and the ball which was put up as one of the raffle prizes. Thanks once again Bristol Rovers for your help.
